Description: The Rockville Ice Arena is a three-sheet operating facility with pro shop and restaurant amenities.  It was purchased in 2004 and immediately master leased to its largest ice licensee, Montgomery Youth Hockey Association (MYHA), on a long-term basis. MYHA, a 501(c)3, is the second largest youth hockey program in the country with more than 1200 members. The arena also serves as the home ice for St. John’s Cadets, the Bullis Bulldogs Landon Bears.  For more information on the Rockville Ice Arena, please visit https://www.rockvilleicearena.com/.

Energy Initiatives:  In 2007, the building was retrofitted with more energy-efficient dehumidification equipment and, a third sheet of ice was added. To mitigate the risk of increasing electricity costs to MYHA, Maven Renewable Energy Ventures, installed (what was at that time) the largest roof mounted photovoltaic solar panel electric energy system in the state of Maryland, meeting one-third of the Rockville Ice Arena’s electricity needs at a fixed price for the next ten years or more and producing approximately 846,440 kilowatts hours (kWh) of electricity per year.
